After living with our new rug for a couple of weeks, we decided we were ready to find a rug for another room in our house. We started another rug search by looking at several other stores in the metro area. We couldn't find exactly what we were looking for, so we returned to HOM Furniture in Little Canada today and asked for Rune Hanson's help once again. He showed us rugs that were new to HOM since our last visit. We ended up taking one of those rugs home and are very pleased, once again, with Rune's help in choosing the right rug for our home.

Got a big 84" TV console for my new home. David G was very nice and reassured me that I picked out a good one that's solid wood and can bear the weight of a big TV and all the devices I have compared to the cheap particle board ones you'd find at other stores. He was very quick in having me try leather couches I needed for my new home, but store was closing that day before I could find one and decide.

The 2 TV console delivery guys were awesome (sorry I forgot your names!): they even took extra time to help me measure my stairway landing and doorway to see if those furniture pieces would make it through to the family room in the basement if I bought a second TV console and the sectional couch next year.
All in all, wonderful stores with awesome staff who listen to your needs and wants and your budget! Excellent delivery service. I also got advice on color from David so the room does not look too dark. I'd recommend HOM, Dock86 and staff I worked with to any of my friends!
We ended up taking two rugs home with us to try out. As soon as we placed the rugs in our home, we knew the colors were not exactly what we needed. We returned the rugs and Rune went back into action helping us find another rug. The third rug we chose was the right choice for us.

I'm very short and I didn't want a couch that you'd sink in or have my legs dangling in the air while seated, so it's hard to find a quality couch that fits. Went back to Dock86 next door a few days later and tried a few more and Michelle D came over to help me, even when I told her that I had started working with David next door, she still took her time to take care of me and offered a lot of expert advice, which I really appreciated. I decided on a piece HOM offers and explained to David that Michelle took care of me while he was off, he was very nice and professional and agreed to split the commission with her.

My husband and I started shopping for area rugs at the end of October by visiting the HOM Furniture store in Little Canada. Rune Hanson, Rug Specialist extraordinaire, spent much time with us trying to find the perfect rug. Rune has many years of experience in the rug business and it shows. He is also exceptionally patient.
I just had the best experience at HOM Furniture!!! I went in to buy this set I've been eyeing and was greeted by this wonderful salesperson, Krysta. She was very friendly and helpful and got answers for me on pricing, avail. and delivery -getting my order on the first truck only a few days after Christmas. Another piece I ordered wasn't able to fit in my vehicle so she delivered it in HER OWN truck after work! And if that wasn't enough, she called to surprise me the next day with an earlier delivery window for the day before Christmas eve!!!! Within 24 hrs of purchasing, I have my new set here and have made a new friend!!! What an exceptional job!! Thank you Krysta S at HOM in Little Canada!!!

For those who don't know, as I found out with this shopping experience: this chain of stores - Dock86, HOM, Gabberts, etc. have the same owner and some sales people work in more one of them; they are commission-based. It's nice you can wonder from one store into the next without having to go outside, especially in MN winter weather!
And some people may think we went over the top!

We usually use this Hom location, because we've had extremely great luck there. The customer service is exceptional. Our most recent trip was no exception. We walked in and Carol immediately greeted us. We told her we were there to look at dining room tables and she immediately walked us to where they were. She explained the 15% off they were running and showed us all of the tables, taking time to explain each of them. She helped us choose a table that will best suit our needs. Carol also went far above and beyond what I would consider wonderful customer service. She looked up an order for our china cabinet, let us know we had a plan that covered damage to our son's bed and explained the coverage plan for the table we purchased. She even explained why we weren't able to locate the chest of drawers and nightstand for the bed we purchased there (it had moved to Dock 86). As if if this wasn't enough, she made sure my husband had a fresh cup of coffee, she made it herself, so he could enjoy that while we shopped. Carol was patient, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. We will be back before Carol's retirement to purchase our son's chest of drawers and nightstand. Additionally, we will continue to use this location for our furniture needs.
